To start with, let me focus on the first of these, since it accounts for the lion's share of the feature set. Three tabs along the top of the window switch between its three operating modes: online (real‑time) encoding, offline encoding, and offline decoding. Authorisation is via an iLok dongle and you can choose mono, stereo or 5.1 surround modes. The software is available for both Windows XP/7 and Mac OS 10.5 or above, and comes in AU, RTAS and VST formats. Fortunately, though, respected plug‑in developers Sonnox have now teamed up with Fraunhofer IIS, the original inventors of MP3, to develop the first real‑time data‑compression plug‑in, Fraunhofer Pro‑Codec, thereby providing a means of streamlining this tediously iterative quality‑control exercise. ![]() ![]() In other words, you have to render your mix/master, then render a data‑compressed version, and then import both files back into your studio DAW system for comparison. Pragmatic though this approach may be, it does suffer from the fact that data‑compression algorithms tend to be offline processes. As such, more conscientious mixing and mastering engineers have got into the habit of rendering and auditioning their work in a variety of data‑compressed formats, to alert themselves to the strengths and weaknesses of different compression algorithms - either so that they can reduce encoding side‑effects with pre‑emptive processing, or so that they can select and configure the most suitable encoding. With every passing year, it seems that, despite the earnest hand‑wringing of audiophiles the world over, more and more of the music that consumers hear has been mangled to some degree by data‑compression algorithms. 5/20/2023 0 Comments Pool store![]() ![]() The customer can supply their own measurements and install it themselves or we have a list of engineers we can recommend you contact to carry out this work. Before any customer purchases a liner from us we are very clear on how the procedure works. Poolstore have been supplying bespoke made liners for our twenty years. As per our previous email and telephone correspondence, the issues you raised are not to do with Poolstore but with the third party engineer you employed to measure and install your pool liner. Thank you for taking the time to report your concerns. Poolstore accept no responsibility for the quality of the work or the ability of the contractor to supply any guarantee of his work. In my case, both the measure and the fitting were "bodged". My point on this review is that Poolstore Gold service is a recommendation to a local contractor to measure and fit. Poolstore also responded to this review alleging that it was not for their company - even though they acknowledged this with their response. Obviously once drained, the liner is useless and now in the bin. I have since sent the pictures of the liner issue as the contractor I have employed has now drained the pool. "If the engineer can resolve the issue then he will explain the work required and give you a price for him to carry out the work, which if you agree to go ahead with him he would charge you directly for." So basically - They will ask someone to come round and give me a quote. In response to "We then offered as a goodwill gesture at our cost to send another engineer to your pool to access the alleged issues, but you declined this offer." The exact offer was - "The engineer has agreed with Poolstore to pop in to assess and inspect your liner issue, it will only be when he is passing your area next. Obviously I have refused this and have instructed a local company to replace the liner. No offer of compensation, just the referral to another Poolstore recommended fitter. Poolstore have never accepted any responsibility for the bodged installation from their recommended fitter. They offered to send another fitter to assess, but with no offer of compensation and I would have to pay for the repair or replacement. I contacted the Poolstore who have responded saying they cannot get hold of the fitter (Adding) and have re-iterated that my warranty for the installation was with the fitter. In fact they have identified holes around the steps that were patched by the fitter as he must have incorrectly fitted and then adjusted. They have said the liner is fitted so badly around the steps that they cannot repair and it needs replacing. The leaks have got so bad now that I called a local company to take a look. But then ignored my calls and never returned. The fitter came back a few times - pumped the water out from behind and said he tightened some seals. From the day the liner went in it leaked. In my case the pool was measured incorrectly - Which created a huge delay as the liner had to be returned and adjusted. You pay the fitter directly and then Poolstore do not warranty his work. What they fail to tell you in the advertisement is that the fitter is not contracted to Poolstore. It says " The fitter will come out to you and measure your pool." and goes on to say the fitter will fit the new liner. Described as "Peace of mind because you will not have to do anything". I bought a pool liner from Poolstore using their "Gold Service" for around £2K. These are the questions marketers must ask themselves when writing the “About” page for their website, deciding what copy goes above the fold, creating a boilerplate for press releases, making the headers for their website and, yes, when designing a trade show booth.Ģ. Here is a four-step formula to do this correctly. While it could simply say, “Google provides technology solutions,” it says, “Google LLC is an American multinational technology company that focuses on search engine technology, online advertising, cloud computing, computer software, quantum computing, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and consumer electronics.” This says exactly what the company does. Here’s an example that makes my point: The Wikipedia entry for Google does a great job of describing what the company does. Marketers need to start by saying what it is in very simple “baby language” that provides an instant mental picture. Will those descriptors sell weatherproof decking? But a platform can be a wooden deck, an evened-out piece of dirt, a speaking subject or a place online. To wit, your product may indeed be a platform. If you’re looking for a new customer to buy your product, tamping down its essence-the marrow of what it intrinsically does-is like shooting yourself in the foot. This is not a bad thing in parenting, but in the world of business, when you’re trying to find new customers, you need to say what you mean. As kids mature, they learn to tamp down and mentally edit communication in favor of being socially acceptable. Why does this happen? Here is my hypothesis: Every parent has winced when children blurted out what we consider to be unedited communication. When invited to a dinner party, why not ask your host questions related to the food you are eating: the recipe, the quality of the ingredients and the local producer or shops where she/he bought them, the chef who inspired the recipe is always highly appreciated.Over the last 30 years spent launching startups, I have noticed a proclivity to slick over the actual “thing” and the founding stories-both usually unique and interesting-in favor of genericizing everything to the point of cliché and making it plain unmemorable. Unlike other countries, French people like politics and love having passionate debates about politicians so why not bring up this topic if you are informed about the current affairs in France. One of my students was pleasantly surprised when he was in Cannes and met a French person who lived in the same building as him on the staircase. This is of course a generality, as not all the French are unreluctant to unveil their private life to people they don’t know well. This is the opposite of other cultures like the US, who open up to all. According to psychologist Kurt Lewin this means that French people don’t like sharing their personal lives so freely with those not in their inner circle. Asking personal questions and oversharing your own personal stories in the wrong setting can make your French companion feel awkward at best, and at worst, they may think you are being rude by crossing the boundaries of intimacy.Īsking a French acquaintance how they met their partner, for example, might seem innocuous, but would be an awkward question for some French people. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Systems: Inputs related to software, equipment, and processes.Skills: Inputs related to skills that employees, leadership, vendors, and other parties bring to the table.Suppliers: Inputs related to vendors and anyone else that supplies resources, including materials and labor.Surroundings: Inputs related to locations and environments. The 4S fishbone template starts with the following categories: It’s also helpful in identifying a manufacturing plant’s internal processes. Say you’re a supply chain leader and your company’s product sales have slowed. Since the simple fishbone template comes without preset affinities or categories, it works for almost any purpose. Starting with the right categories is critical to success with a root cause analysis diagram. The latter three options are preset with categories that are most commonly used in specific industries. You can use a simple fishbone template for a customized approach or start with a 4S, an 8P, or a 6M fishbone. The main difference across fishbone diagram templates is which affinities or categories you start with and how many you include. This is because you can expand the fishbone diagram’s core structure to fit many use cases, which we will learn about next.
